High-precision VBP measuring machines determine the cross profile of strips offline using test pieces cut off in the hot or cold rolling mills. They operate independently of the alloy. They are therefore often used to adjust radiometric measuring systems whose results are dependent on the properties of the alloy in question.
The computer-controlled measuring process runs fully automatically. The evaluation software not only displays the cross profile graphically, but also identifies numerous parameters that simplify evaluation of the strip sample. All measurement data is stored together with the customer’s header data and can be compared with historical data.
